Meet our Owner / Instructor Lynda Shipway
Having a great passion for horses, Lynda Shipway began her career in the equine industry at an early age. While still in her teens she started her own stable of horses plus worked at a nearby riding stable caring for more than 80 horses. In 1970, after graduation from high school, her first business was named Woodway Arabians which became Hollywood Hill Equestrian Center, Inc. in 1989.
Lynda was very active in the 4H program as a youth, showing in English and Western classes. Because of her respect for the wonderful, local 4H program Lynda started the Classic Equestrian 4H Club with a group of her students in 1986. She is very proud of the fact that the club is still going strong and is very thankful for the current good leadership. Presently, Lynda is very active with the Hollywood Hill Saddle Club and is on the Board of Directors as the past president. She helps out with various events during the year.
Lynda has always liked a variety of riding skills and enjoys training horses and riders for show or pleasure riding. She has been very successful in showing horses in Class-A Shows, Regional & National Arabian Shows, and Open Horse Shows. She has competed in Western Pleasure, Stock Seat, Trail Horse, English Pleasure, Saddle Seat, Show Hack, Hunt Seat on the flat, and Hunter over fences, Jumping, Dressage, Halter, Costume, Driving and Sidesaddle Competition.
Lynda Shipway is a CHA Certified Instructor in English and Western riding, teaching adults and children to ride and care for horses in a safe, fun, educational, and positive atmosphere. Her program will provide each student with hands-on experience learning about horse care, grooming, leading, saddling, and riding English or Western style and much more. Come and enjoy this wonderful, fun, and inspiring lady as she shares her knowledge with you.
Lessons are available all year around in private or group sessions and can be taken on one of our well-trained school horses or you may bring your own horse. We also offer Horsemanship Day-Camps during the Summer and some of the school breaks. They are a very fun and educational time for the students.
